Jim Whitfill
As Chief Transformation Officer at HonorHealth, a multi-hospital system in Arizona, Jim Whitfill, MD, MBA, brings extensive expertise in healthcare leadership, strategy, and digital care to promote a customer-centric experience and offer new ways to deliver more complete, coordinated, and accessible care. At HonorHealth, he leads a broad number of areas including digital strategy, innovation and strategic partnerships.
Dr. Whitfill led efforts to create H2Go, HonorHealth’s digital consumer platform. He also co-founded the HonorHealth Innovations, which manages investments in early-stage companies and organizes innovation activities across the enterprise. Under his leadership HonorHealth’s IT and Informatics teams have achieved top quartile performance in US benchmarks of physician and nurse experience with technology.
He serves as Professory of Medicine at the ASU John Shufeldt School of Medicine and Medical Engineering. He is a former Board Chair and former Treasurer of the Society of Imaging Informatics in Medicine and currently chairs the Enterprise Imaging Committee. He is a founding member of the HIMSS-SIIM community for Enterprise Imaging.
Dr. Whitfill received his BA from Princeton University, his MD from the University of Pennsylvania, and his MBA from the Wharton School. He trained in internal medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he also completed a Chief Residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in medical informatics. He has been named a fellow of the American College of Physicians as well as the College of SIIM Fellows.
