Amy DeCaussin is an award-winning artist and content creator based in Phoenix, Arizona, who uses her whimsical illustrations and animations to inspire fresh perspectives and help connect people more deeply with themselves, one another, and the Earth.
Amy creates illustrations, dioramas, and stop-motion animation through watercolor, collage, textiles, and photography. Her handmade approach celebrates the joy of being human and invites the viewer into a deep sense of belonging. Her background in dance, choreography, theatre production, and music informs the movement in her work. Amy seeks to provide her audience with moments of presence and peace, revealing our connection within the rich tapestry of all creation.
For nearly seven years, Amy served as Director of Communications for Saint Barnabas Episcopal Church in Scottsdale, Arizona. During the pandemic, she helped guide the church’s rapid shift to digital ministry, launched an initiative centered around mailing hand-written letters called The Parish Post, and supported a $4.5 million capital campaign that transformed the church grounds. Through her experience, Amy gained the wisdom to motivate both staff, volunteers, and parishioners, nurture listening and understanding, strengthen relationships, and cultivate a culture that forms the central foundation to a flourishing community.
Through her company, DeCaussin Studios, Amy's independent work has allowed her the privilege of working with a variety of clients and organizations to produce original commissioned artwork, package designs, greeting cards, concert posters, event promotions, music videos, and more. In November 2024, her animation "On the Road Again" was featured at CTNExpo in Burbank, CA. With the support of CTN (Creative Talent Network), she is currently working under a scholarship with Emmy-nominated stop-motion animator Sam Koji Hale to produce her own animated series. Amy works primarily from her home studio.
Married to artist Cam DeCaussin, he and Amy share a young son and two small rescue pups.
