Teaching Professor J Duncan Shaeffer currently teaches numerous regional geography courses including Geography of US and Canada, Geography of Arizona, Geography of Latin America, Geography of Europe, Geography of Australia and Oceania, and Geography of Russia. The majority of these courses are taught in both the in-person and online formats. In the past he taught World Geography, Geography of India and South Asia, Geography of Natural Resources, and Introduction to Human Geography. Additionally, he serves as the Associate Director of Undergraduate Programs for the School of Geographical Sciences & Urban Planning.

Cultural and historical geography of North America, Latin America, Europe, Northern Eurasia, and Australia and Oceania. Literature/landscape connections, geographic education, and online education.
