Nehal is a postdoc at the Learning Engineering Institute. His current research focuses on how AI-assistive platforms transform higher education, human perceptions on LLM-generated contents (i.e., evaluation of AI tools), human-centered AI, learning engineering, multimodal learning analytics, and computer-assisted language learning.
Prior to Learning Engineering Institute, he was at Hosei University, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology; and Kyoto University, Japan where he researched image recommendation methods for foreign vocabulary memorization, L2 vocabulary acquisition, clickstream data analysis, multimodal learning analytics, and social robotics for education. He earned his Ph.D. in Engineering from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology. He actively shares his findings to Asia-Pacific Society for Computers in Education (APSCE), KES International, and Society for Learning Analytics Research (SoLAR) communities.
