Melinda Johnson is a Clinical Associate Professor of nutrition in the College of Health Solutions at ASU, with specialties in nutrition communications and nutrition in the media. She served for 10 years as a national spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, where she conducted hundreds of interviews for all forms of media, including national publications such as Shape and Cooking Light magazines, as well as TV and radio. Johnson was a contributor to the US News Eat+Run website and also contributed guest columns to Consumer Reports, PBS Kids, Parenting magazine, and Raising Arizona Kids magazine. She is active with her local dietetic organization, having served as president for the Arizona Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, is a member of Project CENTRL Rural Leadership Development (Class XXII), and serves as a member of the Commnity Engagement Workgroup for IROC (Improving Renal Outcomes Collaborative, an organziation focused on pediatric renal kidney transplant outcomes).
