Barbara Trapido-Lurie's work includes the realms of cartographic design, geographic information technologies, and career development. She retired in June 2021.
As a research professional at ASU, Trapido-Lurie supported faculty and graduate student research by creating and advising on design and production of publication-quality maps and other graphics. She also taught undergraduate coursework in cartographic design and basic geographic information technology. She provided support to the Arizona Geographic Alliance in its initiatives to foster K-12 geographic education.
In addition, she advised students on preparing for internships and careers in geography and urban planning, and taught the school's undergraduate and master's level internship courses. She also organized career fairs and helped disseminate information about internship and employment opportunities.
