Michael Garverick

Michael Garverick joined the School of Accountancy in the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University in 2014, coming from Georgia State University where he received his doctorate. His dissertation was titled "Motives and Barriers to Cloud ERP Selection for SMEs: A Survey of Value Added Resellers Perspectives." He received his bachelor's in industrial administration from Carnegie Mellon University where he also played varsity football and was a three-time Academic All-American.

Professor Garverick has extensive work experience, initially as a financial analyst and consultant at Mellon Bank, and for the past 15+ years as a business owner providing sales and consulting services on ERP/accounting software, databases and systems development/design projects. He is a CPA and won a Elijah Watt Sells Award for his performance on the CPA exam. He was previously a teaching assistant at Arizona State University. He's also taught undergraduate and graduate level Cost and Managerial Accounting courses at ASU West and developed and taught a graduate level Database Systems course at the University of Tennessee and the University of San Diego.
