Dr. Regina Matos serves as one of five Deans of Students at Arizona State University, advancing student success opportunities at the West campus. Her 28-year career in higher education is focused on the success of the students she serves. Working at a large, public university, Dr. Matos is committed to the diversity, equity and inclusion of all students. Dr. Matos is known for strategic collaborations, student engagement, and student advocacy. Currently, Dr. Matos has oversight of a number of functional areas including student advocacy and conduct, as well as student government.
A two-time Sun Devil and a one-time Lumberjack, Dr. Matos earned a Doctorate of Education in Leadership and Innovation, a Master of Education degree in Counseling, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. Her research interests include affinity, DEIB, institutional loyalty, student engagement, and student success.
Dr. Matos and her family moved to the US from war-torn Nicaragua when she was ten, solidifying her personal commitment to causes related to immigration and refugee populations.
