Nancy J. Stephens is an Associate Emeritus Professor of marketing at the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. She retired in 2014. She taught marketing management courses in the W. P. Carey MBA Program (Evening, Corporate and Shanghai) and Services Marketing Management in the W. P. Carey Online Program.
Stephens was faculty director of the W. P. Carey Services Leadership Certificate Program, which offers online courses in services marketing and management. Stephens developed the two inaugural courses in this innovative program sponsored by the Center for Services Leadership at ASU.
Stephens' research interests centered on consumer behavior, marketing communication and services. Her latest publication, co-authored with Teresa A. Swartz, PhD, is entitled "Beliefs of Chinese Buyers of Pirated Goods," and was published in Journal of Consumer Behaviour in 2012.
Stephens was a regular visiting faculty member at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics in China. In 2006, she won Best Foreign Professor Award at the school. She has been an occasional visitor at the Toulouse Business School in France. Nancy received her doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin and her bachelor's (with honors) and master's degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana.
