Andrew Clemency is currently a faculty associate with the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Arizona State University. Andrew joined ASU in 2004. Since then, he has served, at various times, as a faculty associate, lecturer, and senior lecturer. To date, he has taught over 100 criminal law, procedure, and evidence related classes at both the undergraduate and masters levels. He has also developed many criminal law related classes for the School's online program. All of his classes emphasize critical thinking, writing skills, and interactive teaching and learning. Real life, hands-on experience from the field is incorporated to enrich class content.
Andrew has also served as a senior attorney and capital trial attorney with the Maricopa County Public Defenders Office, where he gained substantial experience defending all felony matters, including homicides, sex crimes, dangerous and violent offenses, property crimes, white collar crimes, and drug crimes. The many cases he has defended at trial include six homicide cases, one of which was a death penalty case. Currently, Andrew is in private practice and defends criminal cases throughout Arizona
