Dr. Katherine (Kathy) Kenny, DNP, RN, ANP-BC is the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at Arizona State University Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation where she holds the rank of Clinical Professor. She is a Board-Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner. She joined the faculty at Edson College in 2004, previously serving as the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program Director. Past leadership positions include Chief of Advanced Practice Nursing, Nurse Executive of Medical Services, and Director of Nursing at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, Phoenix. Clinical specialties include critical care, cardiology, neurosciences, pain management, palliative care and hospice, and pre-operative preparation. Her research interests include end-of-life and palliative care, patient education, leadership, integrative therapies, inter-professional practice with a specific interest in mentoring relationships, and innovative approaches to healthcare delivery. She is published in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, and is an invited presenter at regional, national, and international conferences. She has received HRSA funding for NP education ($1.4 Million), and Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP, $500,000). She serves on a number of local and national Boards. She was inducted as a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners in 2013 and as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing in 2015.
