Peter J. Fischer is the owner and operator of Access.Architectural, LLC, an accessibility consulting firm based in Phoenix, Arizona, and the Accessibility Compliance (ADA/504) Coordinator at Arizona State University. With over 25 years of professional experience and more than 45 years of personal commitment to disability rights advocacy, Peter has dedicated his career to promoting accessibility and inclusion. Peter specializes in accessibility evaluations, strategic planning, and home modifications, working closely with a diverse range of stakeholders, including political officials, clients, and regulatory bodies, to ensure compliance with disability-related civil rights laws and regulations.
Since 2019, Peter has served as the ADA/504 Coordinator at Arizona State University, where he leads campus-wide ADA compliance efforts, oversees architectural barrier surveys, and reviews construction projects to ensure accessibility for all students, guests, and staff. His previous roles include Citywide ADA/504 Coordinator for the City of Phoenix and Accessibility Compliance Specialist for the City of Tempe, where he was instrumental in managing compliance programs and developing transition plans to remove access barriers.
Peter holds a Master of Public Administration from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences from Arizona State University. He has received numerous awards, including the Platinum Ambassadors Award from the Arthritis Foundation, the Victor Award from Arizona State University's Devils Adapt program, and the Community Catalyst Award from the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering. His contributions to accessibility have also been featured in publications such as ASU Now and LivAbility Magazine.
In addition to his professional work, Peter is actively involved in volunteer services and boards. He is a Board Member and Coach of the Ahwatukee Pony League Baseball Champions League. As a longstanding advocate, he is a motivational speaker and political advocate for the Arthritis Foundation and has held leadership roles in various organizations, including the Arizona Statewide Independent Living Council.
