Renee Shanly

Shanly was born in Egypt and earned her undergraduate degree in mathematics from the University of Cairo, Egypt. She taught math to high school students for three years in Egypt and then received a contract to teach math in high schools in Bahrain (located in the Arabian Gulf) for four years. In 1973, she immigrated to the United States and held my first job at Xerox Corp. as a programmer. Throughout my tenure at Xerox, she worked her way up the ladder to a senior financial analyst while earning her graduate degree in information management systems from the Rochester Institute of Technology. She left Xerox Corp. to found and operate her own computer consulting company for 20 years. In 2000, she decided to go back to teaching mathematics in college. She moved to Arizona with my husband in 2005 and has been teaching mathematics at ASU-West and Chandler-Gilbert Community College.
