Finden graduated with a graphic design bachelor’s degree in 2011 and then a master's degree in graphic information technology in 2015. He's worked as an environmental graphic designer, print specialist, and digital creator. He has experience in design studios, in-house marketing teams, and as a principal in his studio.
From 2014–2020, he was a faculty associate at ASU's The Design School, where he now teaches full-time as a Clinical Assistant Professor. In the Spring 2022 semester, he also became the coordinator of the first- and second-year courses. In AY 2024, he took on the role of program co-head, overseeing the first- and second-year courses, along with the graduate program.
In 2024, Finden graduated with a doctoral degree in ASU's Environment, Design, and the Arts program. His research was on the visual communication of extreme heat risk in outdoor recreation areas.
