Dr. Raquel Fong has 13 years of experience in higher education and has primarily worked in student services and advising and curriculum management. She currently serves as the Director for the Explore unit in University College. In her role, Raquel oversees all aspects of the student experience for students in the exploratory major, from matriculation, advising, curriculum, and retention and persistence.
Previously, she was the Manager or Curriculum Development in the Office of the University Provost. In this role, she worked collaboratively with academic units to provide support in curriculum planning efforts. She also worked closely with degree search, academic catalog and other related initiatives.
Furthermore, she has held multiple roles in student engagement and academic advising within the Office of Student Services (OSS) in the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, which include serving on the leadership team within the OSS and supervised a team of academic advisors and support staff. Dr. Fong was awarded New Advisor of the Year from the Council of Academic Advisors (CAA) at ASU in 2015 and went on to be selected as New Advisor of the Year by the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA).
