Ryner studies and teaches classes on Shakespeare and early English drama, history of economic thought, drama as a genre, knowledge production, and questions of ontology and agency in early English texts and society.
Saikia's work focuses on the histories of memory and identity; women, war, and peace; premodern and contemporary South Asia (India, Pakistan and Bangladesh) and engaging the history of Islam and Islamic values of peace.
