Professor Hillegeist’s research interests include the determinants and effects of firm's voluntary disclosure decisions, executive compensation, insider trading, and bankruptcy prediction.

Hendrik Bessembinder studies the design and regulation of financial markets (including stock, foreign exchange, fixed income, futures, and energy markets) as well as long-term investment performance.
