Equally at home in opera, musical theatre, symphony, pops and ballet, Brian DeMaris currently serves as Artistic Director of ASU's Music Theatre and Opera program in the School of Music, Dance and Theatre.

Weiss, mezzo-soprano, has sung Zweite Dame, Grimgerde, Leitmetzerin, Marcellina, Santuzza, and Venus with Deutsche Oper Berlin, Staatsoper Unter den Linden, Oper Köln, Oper Leipzig, San Diego Opera, and Berlin Philharmonic.
