Cris Wells is a Clinical Professor and Senior Director of Academic Operations at Arizona State University within the College of Nursing and Health Innovation. A radiologic technologist and electrical engineer by training, Professor Wells has overseen health care and research projects in basic, translational, and clinical research. Prior to joining ASU, she served in various capacities in education as well as research. Her research positions included appointments as director of clinical operations in translational research, senior director of oncology clinical research, and supervisor of research administration in neurobiology. Her engineering background centered on pacemaker design when working for a medical device company. She also served as the consumer representative on the Food and Drug Administration Medical Device Advisory Panel for four years. Professor Wells’ current interests are focused on workforce development, curriculum design, and accreditation of emerging research and health care professions, including clinical research, regulatory science, and health care compliance.
