Lynda Mae holds a doctorate in social psychology with an additional emphasis in personality psychology from Purdue University. She currently teaches the following courses at ASU: Introductory Psychology, Social Psychology, Personality Theories and Research, Consumer Psychology, Stereotyping, Prejudice & Discrimination, Media Madness: Psychological Disorders as Represented in Film and Literature, Sleep and Dreaming, and Psychology in Shakespeare (with a study abroad component).
Mae is also director of multimedia design for the Department of Psychology and conducts trial consulting (focus groups and mock trials on cases scheduled for court) in the community. She specializes in the creation of multimedia presentations for the classroom and courtroom, and her research interests are in pedagogy (multimedia and arts incorporation, humor as a pedagogical tool), and social cognition (biases in person impression, accidental vs. intentional person impressions, effects of pernicious social communications, such as gossip and/or prejudiced speech).
