Chelsea Carpenter has been a crime scene specialist for the Phoenix Police Department since July of 2014. Her job includes responding to crime scenes and documenting them. Her skills include, but are not limited to, photography, powder processing, DNA collection and specialized chemical knowledge.
Before working for the Phoenix Police Department, Chelsea graduated from Arizona State University in 2013 with her bachelor's degree in criminal justice and criminology, and her master's degree in criminal justice in 2017. Her specialties include crime scene and forensics. Her capstone involved a program to bring mental health screenings into the Durango Jail in Maricopa County.
Chelsea received a certificate for the International Association for Identification (IAI) in 2018. She is also a member of several associations, such as the Arizona Identification Council, and the International Crime Scene Investigator's Association.
In addition to case work, she has testified in court in Maricopa County.
In her spare time, Chelsea enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and stepson.
