Long Bio
Allegra Shepherd graduated with her Associates of Nursing from Chandler-Gilbert Community College in 2011. She immediately began taking courses required to fulfill her Bachelors of Science in Nursing, which she earned in 2014 from Arizona State University (ASU). In 2018, she again graduated from ASU with her Master’s of Science in Nursing Education (MS-NED). After obtaining her nursing license, Allegra has worked in a variety of settings, which include small rural hospitals up to large medical centers. Her experience includes medical surgical, telemetry, pulmonary renal, and labor and delivery. She is currently working in a level three trauma center that has a 2E nursery certification. In this setting she has had the opportunity to care for obstetrical trauma patients, critically ill pregnant and post-partum patients, as well obtaining training as a surgical scrub technician, a skilled transition nurse, and has trained to work in a obstetrical emergency department. After obtaining her Master’s of Science in Nursing Education, Allegra is a Clinical Assistant Professor with ASU. Her experience with ASU includes teaching various experiential, clinical, and didactic courses, as well as coordinating NUR 336, and serving as the Term 5 Coordinator. She has even had the opportunity to fill in as a Simulation Nurse. Allegra took it upon herself to obtain her RNC-OB, and her C-EFM.
