Sharon R. Harvey was the first founding faculty member with ASU Colleges of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. She directs the General Education program, as well as teaching religion, philosophy and sustainability courses. Her research interests include Heideggerian eco-phenomenology, phenomenological education, and religion and the environment. Harvey also works with local agencies in the promotion efforts for the prevention and containment of the invasive Quagga mussels, involving her students in community outreach and mussel education. She recently took a group of students on a Study Abroad course to Ecuador and the Galapagos to study conservation biology and ecological sustainability in three different ecosystems: the Andes Mountains, the Amazon Jungle, and the Galapagos Islands.
