Reese Conner is currently an English instructor at Arizona State University (ASU), where he teaches first-year composition courses to second-language learners as well as native speakers. He also teaches business/technical writing and the occasional poetry workshop. Conner has a certification to teach English to multilingual writers as well as one to teach online/hybrid courses, which allows even greater flexibility within higher education.
In 2015, Conner received his Master of Fine Arts at ASU. His creative work appears in many top literary journals, including Tin House, The Missouri Review, Ninth Letter, New Ohio Review, and elsewhere. Conner’s debut book, The Body He Left Behind, won the 2020 Cider Press Review Editors' Prize Book Award and is scheduled to be published in August 2021. He received the Turner Prize from the Academy of American Poets, the Mabelle A. Lyon Poetry Award, and a nomination for a Pushcart Prize.
