Kim Baldwin is the Director of the Next Generation Service Corps, an undergraduate leadership development program situated within the ASU Public Service Academy. The Next Generation Service Corps is dedicated to forming character-driven, cross-sector leaders who are committed to addressing complex social issues. In her role as Director, Kim oversees the mission, vision, and implementation of this flagship program that debuted in 2015 with an intention to educate the next generation of public servants. Now, having graduated six cohorts of students, Kim continues to lead the ongoing efforts of internal program improvement while supporting national expansion efforts. Through a partnership with the Volcker Alliance, ASU’s Public Service Academy has started a movement with twenty one universities around the country following the NGSC public service leadership program model. In addition to her program leadership, Kim teaches various courses offered through the ASU School of Public Affairs as part of the Certificate in Cross Sector Leadership.
Prior to her role at ASU, Kim served as the Associate Provincial Assistant for Secondary and Post-Secondary Education for the Jesuits West Province where she worked closely with the administrations, Boards, and faculty and staff of 18 schools to evaluate and support their efforts in leading and educating in alignment with their mission. Before her regional work, Kim spent a decade teaching and serving in Phoenix as a key member of the administrative team at Brophy College Preparatory as an Assistant Principal. Kim has also held roles supporting local non-profits public relations and community engagement efforts. Kim is a member of the Arizona Leadership Collaborative and the Watts College Public Service Team. Kim earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University, a Masters of Divinity from Santa Clara University, and a Certificate in Non-Profit Operations and Program Impact from the ASU Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation. Kim’s passion is centered around supporting and inspiring young people who have a desire to impact their community for good.
