Amy is the Director of Learning Technology for the Office of the Provost at Arizona State University and has led instructional design teams for the College of Global Futures, The School of Life Sciences, and Thunderbird. She is devoted to building inclusive courses that effectively implement emerging technologies for diverse students in all modalities of learning. Her extensive research focuses on global instructional design, inclusive teaching practices, and the integration of emerging technologies. Through her dissertation, she has explored international academic partnerships, creating opportunities for instructional designers worldwide. Amy has presented her work at prestigious institutions like the University of Helsinki and Munster University. She has mentored Fulbright scholars and collaborated on global projects, enhancing online course design for diverse, international learners.
Collaborating with the Research for Inclusive STEM Education Center (RISE), Amy developed training modules for a fellowship for grad students and faculty to build skills in Inclusive Teaching and rework their courses to promote a sense of belonging for all students. She has worked with virtual reality simulations for lab classes and helped develop guidelines for inclusive avatars in partnership with technology vendors.
