Hermelinda Garcia is a faculty associate in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Arizona State University at the Downtown Campus. She earned bachelor’s degrees in Spanish and justice studies from Arizona State University, and a juris doctor degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. She currently works as a Deputy County Attorney for the Maricopa County Attorney's Office, specializing in homicide cases. Her experience spans from prosecuting misdemeanor cases to high-level violent felonies in Maricopa County. Ms. Garcia also previously worked as a Deputy County Attorney for the Pima County Attorney's Office where she specialized in vehicular offenses. Ms. Garcia also participates in training law enforcement agencies in Maricopa County.
