Long Bio
Kassandra “Kassie” Salas, originally from Lemoore, CA and Gulfport, MS, is a passionate scholar and creative with a love for storytelling in all its forms. She earned her Bachelor’s in Mass Communication and Media Studies and went on to complete a Master’s in Liberal Studies with a focus on Film and Media Studies—proudly joining the ranks of ASU’s “Double Devils” in Fall 2022.
Her academic interests span Chicanx/Latinx studies, literature, art history, film, and media studies. Kassie’s research, including her exploration of Horror Films as Comfort Films.
Beyond the classroom, Kassie has built a wide-ranging professional portfolio. She’s contributed to the ASU community as a student worker, managed social media for Benjo Blocks, and shared her voice as a music writer and interviewer with The Grey Estates. She also expresses her creativity as both a digital and traditional artist, blending her academic insights with her artistic passions.
