I graduated from the Universidad Nacional de Asuncion, Paraguay in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in Biology. I came to the United States and earned my MS in Forensic Science from University of California, Davis in 2010. After some up-and-downs, I had the opportunity to move to Massachusetts and finished a master's degree in Biomedical Engineering and Biotechnology from University of Massachusetts, Lowell in 2015.
While in Massachusetts, I taught various biology and biotechnolgy related subjects with concentration in forensics at the Massachusetts Bay Community College for 3 years. I enjoyed sharing my time, knowledge and experiences with my students and colleagues, however, the cold and snow were too much for my South American body and my husband and I decided to move to Arizona plus ASU was giving me an amazing opportunity to teach!
Forensic Science, human remains, and DNA analysis are longstanding passions of mine.

I am extremely interested in forensic anthropology and DNA analysis, especially identification of human remains. I am hoping to continue projects that are developing protocols for a cheaper, easier and faster recognition of remains of individuals using anthropological identification, wildlife forensics and DNA profiling. I would like to share the protocols with scientists from my home country and give the families the opportunity to bring their loved ones back to the place where they truly belong.
