Long Bio
Rebecca is an Evolutionary Anthropology PhD student in the School of Human Evolution and Social Change, under the advisement of Dr Anne Stone. Previously, she obtained her BS in Biological Sciences from the University at Buffalo in 2015. Rebecca then completed her MA in Biology in the department of Ecology and Evolution at Stony Brook University in 2017. Mentored by Dr Brenna Henn, she focused on pigmentation evolution within African populations.
Rebecca intends to study human genomics in an anthropological context and aims to be involved in research concerning human evolution and part of the effort to expand women’s roles in STEM fields. Currently, as a research assistant, Rebecca is working on calculating mutation rates in bonobos and continues to work on pigmentation evolution in humans and non human primates. In the future, Rebecca will endeavor into politics to inflict policy changes to better science education.
