I’m originally from Longmont, CO, so I have to say go Nuggets and Avalanche. My academic and professional path has taken me across several regions, beginning with my undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado Boulder. I later lived in New Zealand, where I developed my skills in international video production, and went on to earn my MFA from the New York Film Academy, located on the Universal Studios backlot in Burbank, CA.
I have been working in the film, television, and broadcast industry since 2009, building a career that has grown from being a Digital Imaging Technician to Producer, Editor, and Cinematographer. Over the past 15 years, I have worked with major companies such as Warner Bros., Meta, and Samsung, as well as smaller and mid-sized companies including KiwiCo, Authentic Entertainment, and Black Wing Digital. My experience spans everything from working at Warner Bros. with shows like Conan and Ellen to producing and editing digital content and covering the NBA as a videographer.
Over the years, I have developed a diverse portfolio of projects that reflect both technical expertise and creative storytelling. I have led the production of several high-profile campaigns, including a live performance of Shreddy Murphy, The Zodiac Ramblers, and a Meta internal music festival Undiscovered which partnered with the internal women's program to celebrate International Women's Month in 2022. I was also instrumental in creating the award-winning music film Conscious for the Colorado-based band Lamia of the Pool, which helped expand the band’s audience and engagement.
In addition to music and branded content, I have worked extensively in narrative and digital series production. I served as Executive Producer and Director of Photography on the award-winning web series Two Girls, One Love, created in collaboration with Notoki Motion Pictures, which utilized short-form storytelling to build a strong online following. I have also technical directed large-scale productions, including Oculus’ 2023 Gaming Showcase, filmed on an XR stage, and The Road to Tokyo, a mini reality series focused on virtual sculpting competitions.
Alongside my industry work, I transitioned into education about a decade ago, beginning as a tutor at Mountain View High School in Mesa, AZ. I later joined ASU, where I have been teaching for over nine years in both in person and online formats. I initially taught film, television, and screenwriting within the School of Film, Dance and Theatre, and since 2018, I have focused primarily on online courses after relocating out of Arizona.
Across both my professional and academic work, I focus on integrating emerging technologies with strong visual storytelling, with the goal of creating content that is both technically innovative and meaningful for a wide range of audiences. Whether behind the camera or in the classroom, I’m passionate about helping stories connect, ideas land, and the next generation of filmmakers find their voice.
