Becky Kochenderfer-Ladd is a professor in the T. Denny Sanford School of Social and Family Dynamics at Arizona State University. Ladd earned her doctorate at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in Educational Psychology. She has been studying children’s social development and peer relationships for more than 20 years. Her research is based on the premise that social relationships play a critical role in children’s social, emotional, and moral development as well as influence youths’ psychosocial and school adjustment. Her research has been supported by the National Science Foundation, the National Institute of Health, and the Institute of Education Sciences. She is currently the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Applied Developmental Psychology.
