Long Bio
Alexandra received a BA in North Dakota where she majored in anthropology and classical studies and minored in art history. Her master’s research focused on animal remains from burials in Sudan that were excavated through the Bioarchaeology of Nubia Expedition (BONE) project. Her dissertation research includes study of how repatriation of objects and its public perception affect museum success for the American Alliance of Museums (AAM) accredited institutions in the United States of America (USA) with the aim of providing quantified data for use in improving legal and institutional policies and for promoting repatriation and rematriation efforts from the USA.

Research Interests
Research foci, interests, and expertise include the following:
- Bioarchaeology, or the study of skeletal remains and mortuary contexts to answer questions about people who lived in the past, and related studies of human osteology, mortuary archaeology, zooarchaeology, and genetics, particularly of the Mediterranean.
- Rematriation/Repatriation (the return of people and cultural objects to their original communities, countries, and/or descendants) and related work on institutional and legal policy promoting repatriation such as the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA).
- Museum studies including the roles of institutions as political entities as well as museum administration, public education, and exhibit design and development.
