Gabriel Baillie is a Bachelor of Arts in Education student at Arizona State University, pursuing a concentration in Instructional Design and Learning Technology. He is driven by a deep interest in how people learn, what motivates them to grow, and how well-designed learning experiences can translate directly into real-world performance, confidence, and long-term impact.
His academic focus centers on learner-centered design, performance improvement, and the practical application of instructional design models such as ADDIE, Fink’s Taxonomy of Significant Learning, and adult learning theory. Gabriel is especially interested in bridging the gap between theory and practice—building training, learning systems, and educational experiences that are not only informative, but genuinely transformative for the learner.
Alongside his studies, Gabriel brings hands-on experience in training, operations, and leadership within fast-paced work environments. These roles have shaped his belief that great learning isn’t just about content—it’s about clarity, systems, motivation, and consistency. He is particularly interested in designing scalable training solutions, onboarding systems, and performance-support tools that help organizations and individuals operate at a higher level.
Outside of academics, Gabriel is deeply invested in personal development, fitness, and creative projects. He actively pursues physical training and discipline as a way to build resilience and mental toughness, and he applies the same mindset to his professional and academic growth. He is also a language learner, currently studying Japanese and Spanish, and enjoys exploring how language, culture, and storytelling intersect with education and design.
Creatively, Gabriel is the creator of long-form narrative projects that blend world-building, character development, and visual storytelling, including original story universes that he plans to adapt into novels and manga-style formats. These projects have strengthened his skills in structuring information, maintaining audience engagement, and designing experiences with intentional emotional and cognitive impact—skills that directly support his work in instructional design.
Long-term, Gabriel aims to work in instructional design, learning experience design, or organizational training and development, where he can build systems that help people learn faster, perform better, and grow with purpose. He is especially interested in roles that combine strategy, creativity, and real-world execution, and he is committed to continuously refining his skills as both a designer and a learner.
I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Education at Arizona State University with a concentration in Instructional Design and Learning Technology. My studies focus on learner-centered design, adult learning theory, and building effective training and educational systems that translate knowledge into real-world performance. Through coursework and applied projects, I am developing skills in instructional design models, learning experience design, and performance improvement, with an emphasis on creating clear, practical, and engaging learning solutions.
