Rachel is a Project Manager for the SolarSPELL Initiative at Arizona State University. SolarSPELL is a digital library initiative that brings solar-powered, localized, offline digital libraries to communities across Africa, the Pacific Islands, and the Middle East. In this role, she oversees the development and implementation of digital library projects around the globe, leveraging her education and experience in Learning Sciences and International Affairs.

After completing her BA in International Affairs at the University of Colorado in 2012, she served in the Peace Corps in Benin, taught English in France, and served as the AmeriCorps VISTA Leader for the Arizona Refugee Resettlement Program. Following her years of national service, she worked at a refugee resettlement agency coordinating educational programming for refugee women in the greater Phoenix area. In this role, her greatest accomplishment was developing and implementing a Women’s Leadership Development Program, from which she graduated 30 women from 9 different countries. From 2020 to 2022, Rachel was a Coverdell Fellow at Arizona State University, where she completed a master’s degree in Learning Sciences and a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership and Management.
