Emily Holleran

Emily Holleran is a Sustainability Instructor and Senior Global Futures Scientist whose work focuses on food systems as complex, interconnected drivers of human and planetary well-being. Her research and applied scholarship examine how agricultural management decisions influence soil health, water quality, water availability, and long-term system resilience.

She holds a graduate degree in Sustainability from Harvard University and has earned two graduate certificates in the field, including one in Local Food Systems. Emily works at the intersection of science, policy, and practice, advising state governments across the U.S. Rocky Mountain Region on the design, evaluation, and scaling of regenerative and conservation-based agricultural programs.

Her work emphasizes systems thinking, decision-relevant evidence, and cross-sector collaboration to address complex sustainability challenges within food and agricultural systems. She has advised global food system organizations, is trained as a soil laboratory technician, and has served as Vice-Chair of a local food policy network. Prior to her academic career, Emily worked as a Supply Chain Management Consultant, an experience that continues to inform her integrated, systems-level approach to sustainability research and education.
