Before coming to ASU and SCETL, Professor Doody was Professsor of Philosophy at Villanova University where he also served as Honors Director, Chair of the Philosophy Department, Founder and Director of the Augustine and Culture Seminar Program, Associate Dean for First Year Studies, Interim Dean College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and Director of the Villanova Center for Liberal Education.
He has also taught at St. Joseph's University, Haverford College, the University of Notre Dame and the University of Colorado, Boulder where he was a Senior Scholar in the Benson Center for the Study of Western Civilization.
He is the Co-Senior Editor of the Series: Augustine in Conversation:Tradition and Innovation. He was the founding Editor of Expositions: an Interdisciplnary Journal in the Humanities.
His interests are in Social and Political Philosophy with special interest in the work of Alasdair MacIntyre. He also has a long term interest in the Philosophy of Sports.
