College of Global Futures
Toby Shulruff (she/her) is a PhD candidate in the Human and Social Dimensions of Science and Technology program at the School for the Future of Innovation in Society. She works at the nexus of technology, people, and planet to build our collective capacity to understand, make choices about, and ultimately shape the technologies and systems that are woven into the fabric of our lives. Her research focuses on the role of Trust and Safety work within technology companies, the privacy and safety risks of everyday and emerging technologies, and the role of Public Interest Technology, Responsible Innovation, and World Expos in shaping global futures. She has a passion for bringing together people from a variety of backgrounds to find solutions to highly complex problems. Toby began working in the field of gender-based violence in 1997. She now looks for remnants of the World's Fairs everywhere she goes.
