Kayla Galetta

Biography: Kayla received her undergraduate bachelor's of science in nursing degree from Villanova University in Philadelphia, PA, where she studied Nursing and Spanish. Her greatest professional accomplishment in nursing includes leading the school health office system within ASU Preparatory Academy out of the COVID-19 pandemic and into the next generation of school healthcare, specifically at the Downtown Phoenix campus. Kayla and her team brought equitable school healthcare to K12 students and families through strengthening local partnerships and building relationships with those in the ASU Prep community from 2020-2023. Kayla then shifted her career into academia to work as a clinical/experiential faculty at Arizona State University. As a simulationist and instructor, she worked with undergraduate and master's level prelicensure nursing students and utilized Laerdal and Gaumard mannequins, practicing innovative healthcare simulation technology for future generations. In 2025, her reputation as a clinical nurse leader echoed throughout the state of Arizona, as she was asked to serve as a Clinical Supervisor for Ro Health and weekend supervisor/relief charge nurse at the Phoenix Children's Hospital urgent cares. Her colleagues describe her as "an excellent clinical nurse, leader, and preceptor," and her supervisors "adore" her, commenting on her unwavering positive attitude toward change and commitment to quality improvement projects.

She began advancing her own education part-time in the Pediatric Doctorate of Nursing Practice program at Arizona State University in fall 2021 and is on track to begin practicing as a Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner by May 2027. She is an active participant in a number of professional nursing organizations and sits on many committees. When she is not working, she enjoys attending professional development conferences, meeting other members of the pediatric health community, and volunteering with the Maricopa County Public Health Department. She also loves to paint, play music, spend time outside with her partner, Harry, and play with her dog, Coco.

Kayla has worked for many years as a pediatric registered nurse. From her days as an Early Intervention nurse to her time as a women's health expert and an inpatient postpartum nurse, rest assured that Kayla is here to help her patients feel at ease knowing they are truly in good hands.
