Long Bio
Glen Rice is a Southwestern archaeologist who has directed large excavation and survey projects in the Hohokam and Mogollon regions. Among his interests are field strategies and tactics and methods for the spatial analysis of archaeological deposits. Rice's investigations have dealt with the emergence of sedentism, the operation of community systems, the organizational strengths of tribal societies and the processes involved in the transition from tribes to more complex forms of social organization. Rice heads the Office of Cultural Resource Management, and he founded and edits ASU's Anthropological Field Studies.
