Long Bio
Originally a geologist, Yulia Kukula received her Bachelor's degree in oil and gas geology from Lomonosov Moscow State University in Russia. Prior to joining Arizona State University as a PhD student in 2021, she spent two years with the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, working on environmental challenges in the Arctic region due to extensive oil and gas extraction activities and environmental monitoring. Currently, her dissertation research focuses on exploring environmentally friendly practices for extracting and supplying copper from geologic formations to the global market.
