Long Bio
Gonzalo Galindo-Delgado is a Ph.D. student in Justice Studies at Arizona State University, where he serves as a Graduate Teaching Associate in the School of Social Transformation and as a Global Human Rights Hub fellow at ASU New College. He holds a B.A. in Law from the University of Antioquia (Colombia) and an M.A. in Social Sciences from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (Mexico). Before embarking on his academic journey, he was engaged in cause lawyering and human rights advocacy in his home country. This early exposure to real-world challenges fueled his passion for exploring the intricate relationship between Law, Social Movements, and Progressive Politics in Latin America. His current research focuses on the strategies employed by social movements to harness the power of the legal system in their pursuit of social justice. He is particularly intrigued by the evolving landscape of social mobilization and progressive governance in Latin America. His work seeks to unravel the dynamic interplay between grassroots movements and policy changes, shedding light on the mechanisms that drive positive societal transformations.
