Long Bio
Michaela Mengxue Wu is a PhD student in the Comparative Culture and Language program, Arizona State University. Her research areas are philosophy, cultural studies, and early Chinese intellectual history. She is interested in the dynamic relations between philosophy and Chinese culture, with specific focuses on the themes of memory, writing, subjectivity, and poetry translation. She works on understanding the formation of classics in early China during the Han dynasty (206 BC - 220 CE) from a philosophical perspective via the works of Jacques Derrida, Martin Heidegger, Jan Assmann, and Ezra Pound.
