Dr. Andrew Potter is a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at the Learning Engineering Institute. His research areas include writing instruction, writing assessment, and the integration of educational technologies and artificial intelligence with evidence-based instructional practices. He is particularly interested in supporting literacy outcomes for students who are at-risk. Dr. Potter uses quantitative and mixed method research designs to guide his work.
Dr. Potter earned his Ph.D. in Literacy from the University of Delaware, his M.S. in Educational Psychology from Georgia State University, and his B.A. in History from Boston University. Before entering academia, he worked as a special education teacher and instructional coach in Atlanta, Georgia. His work bridges research and practice, aiming to enhance writing and reading instruction through innovative tools and evidence-based approaches.
