Mary is an alumnus of Arizona State University and joined EdPlus as an instructional design specialist in 2018, supporting a variety of departments across the ASU Online programs. Her deeply rooted passion for fulfilling the Charter of ASU has led her to find niches of connections across the University, tying diverse and mission-driven groups of influencers together to collaborate and create solutions to various opportunities centered on access and inclusion. Her past and current projects have included the inclusion and elevation of services in the Student Access and Inclusive Learning Services (SAILS), the ASU Libraries, Enterprise Technology, Learning Enterprise, and EdPlus initiatives. In her role at ASU, Mary is a catalyst for unity and innovation.
Under the direction of Justin Harding, Executive Director for Instructional Design and New Media at EdPlus, Mary hosts quarterly university-wide instructional design community meetings, providing a platform for the celebration and collaboration of design projects across all programs and enterprises at ASU. Her goal is to bring people together and spotlight their collective efforts in enriching the learning landscape at the university. Additionally, Mary is an active member of the Instructional Technology Awareness Committee (ITAC), providing consultation on technology adoption and process considerations for supporting the faculty and students of ASU.
Alongside executive leadership at EdPlus, Mary leads the professional development and training strategies at EdPlus for thousands of ASU Online Faculty and instructional staff across the university. Many of these offerings are open to the public, ensuring that the work we do at ASU serves design communities across the world. With consideration of ASU's leading innovation and thought leadership across the world, Mary has presented on diverse topics at partner universities by invitation of the University Design Institute.
In addition, Mary is the co-creator and co-host of 'Course Stories,' a podcast that offers an intimate glimpse into the heart of course design at ASU. Produced by the Instructional Design and New Media team at EdPlus, 'Course Stories' features enlightening conversations with faculty and instructional staff from ASU Online and other diverse programs at ASU.
