Long Bio
Paula is a Research Professional for The Earth League, co-chaired by Dr. Peter Schlosser and Prof. Johan Rockström, where she works at the intersection of climate science, climate policy, and scientific synthesis to inform decision-making. She is based at the Global Futures Laboratory at Arizona State University.
Within The Earth League, Paula leads the scientific coordination of the 10 New Insights in Climate Science series, managing international research teams, editorial processes, and the development of policy-relevant science outputs. She also advances strategic and operational initiatives across The Earth League and the Global Futures Laboratory, including proposal development, high-level convenings, and engagement at global forums such as the UN Climate Conferences (COPs).
Before joining The Earth League, she worked as a consultant for the UN system in Latin America. She served as an Economic Transformation and Industrialization Researcher at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Regional Office in Uruguay, where she contributed as a lead co-author to regional knowledge products. She later worked with UN Women for the Americas and the Caribbean, supporting the Women, Peace and Security regional program through research and analysis, budget monitoring, and program coordination.
