J. Michael Hoffpauir is an Instructor in the School of Civic and Economic Thought and Leadership. Prior to joining Arizona State University, he taught courses in American political thought and political philosophy at Clemson University, where he also was Associate Director of the Lyceum Program in political and economic thought. His research interests include ancient and modern political thought, leadership, and the American founding, and he is the author of Between Socrates and the Many: A Study of Plato’s Crito. He received a B.A. in Political Science from Louisiana State University, an M.A. in Political Science from Boston College, and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Claremont Graduate University in California.
