Long Bio
Tyler Karasinski is currently studying towards his Astrophysics PhD at Arizona State University, working with the Near-Earth Space Sensing Group under Dr. Katrina Bossert where he researches upper atmospheric dynamics and atmospheric gravity waves in the mesosphere and lower thermosphere (MLT) region.
Karasinski received his B.S. in physics with a thesis in radio astronomy at St. Lawrence University in May 2024. His research focused on HI observations of supernova-hosting galaxies with the Green Bank Telescope and Undergraduate ALFALFA Team in an effort to refine the Baryonic Tully-Fisher Relation (BTFR).
Additionally, Karasinski has extensive community outreach and science education experience, volunteering as a NASA Partner Eclipse Ambassador at universities and local grade schools during the months preceding the 2024 total solar eclipse, preparing and exciting the public for the phenomenon. His current research makes extensive use of citizen science in an effort to determine atmospheric gravity wave activity over extended periods of time.
He looks forward to networking with curiosity-driven individuals from whom he can gain professional experience, and is excited to expand upon his current research.
