Pablo Bezem, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of education policy. His research focuses on governance in K-12 education and access to higher education. He is especially interested in how local government support and accountability policies can enable organizational change in schools, influence the relationships between school leadership and districts, and reduce opportunity gaps. To examine these topics, Bezem employs a range of research methods, including experimental, quasi-experimental, and qualitative designs.
Bezem has over a decade of experience conducting education research in the U.S. and internationally, forging collaborative partnerships with schools, communities, and policymakers. His professional experience spans the public and private sectors, including the Argentinean Ministry of Economics, Gallup, CIPPEC, and the UNESCO International Institute for Educational Planning. He earned a PhD in education policy at Michigan State University as a Fulbright Fellow and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of California, Irvine.
