Tejaswi Gowda

Tejaswi Gowda is an Assistant Professor of Extended Reality Technologies in the School of Games, Arts, Media and Engineering with the Herberger School of Design and Arts at Arizona State University. He also serves as Honors Faculty at the Barretts Honors College. His research interests include Internet of Things, full-stack cloud computing, Extended Reality (XR) technologies, web technologies, and design automation. He has worked on real-time systems solutions for a range of applications including wearable technologies, web technologies, motion capture systems for AR/VR research, and MLOps. He has applied these technologies in service of many community-embedded projects.

Dr. Gowda holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Arizona State University (2005-2011) and a Bachelor of Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka. He has been with ASU's School of Arts, Media and Engineering since 2020 and is passionate about teaching and dedicated to empowering students with the knowledge, skills, and experiences they need to thrive in the XR industry and beyond. He currently teaches AME 220: Programming for the Web, AME 394: Programming the Internet of Things, and AME 494: Programming for the Social-Interactive Web.

In addition to his academic work, Dr. Gowda is a Co-Founder and Computer Scientist at Foxy Ninja Studios, a startup that specializes in full-stack development, IoT consulting, and product design.
